Rites of Passage

Under construction

The five rite-of-passage rituals herein might properly be designated Quaker Pagan in character. They include rites for:

Welcoming an infant born to or adopted by parents who committed to parnership under care of the Sacred Grove;

Celebrating the coming-of-age of an individual at his or her 18th birthday in the USA and thereby acquiring the freedom and responsibilities of a legal adult. Since the Sacred Grove includes only individuals 18 and older in its rites, the individual will be new to the Grove with the exception of a period of preparation and discernment precedes the ritual. Providing such a rite-of-passage could become a service offered to the community; the ritual can be suitable for general attendance.

Solemnizing the commitment of two people as life partners, regardless of gender, legal sanction, or religious affiliation. A period of preparation and discernment precedes the ritual, which can be suitable for general attendance.

Bidding farewell to a deceased member of the community.

Attending the moment of death of an individual of any faith or affiliation in a hospital or hospice situation.

Unless otherwise noted, all work is my own or my adaptation of liturgy in the Bhakti-Wiccan tradition of the Fellowship of the Sacred Grove.
